New Mission and Vision Statements Provide Inspiration

By Katie Hinerman Klug

Catholic Charities West Virginia (CCWVa) has unveiled new mission and vision statements that communicate the organization’s purpose and goals for the future.

“This was a comprehensive process that involved a lot of reflection and input from staff as well as our board of directors,” said Paula Taylor, CCWVa Board of Directors president.

Staff and board members said they felt it was important to outline why the organization exists, whom it serves and how it serves them.

The board also took up the task of defining a vision statement for the agency. This statement is an inspirational and motivational depiction of where the agency is heading.

The new statements read:

Vision:

We envision a West Virginia where all people can access the services they need to be happy, healthy, and reach their full potential.

Mission:

Guided by God’s love, Catholic Charities collaborates with community partners, parishes and families to provide caring and compassionate services to people in need and work toward lasting and meaningful change.

Taylor said the mission and vision statements provide direction for the organization and help the board of directors stay aligned and focused for important decisions.

“I greatly appreciate all the hard work and collaboration that went into this process, and everyone who works to make this mission come to life every day,” said Taylor.
