Free Health Fair Offered during the Whitesville Fair Festival

Catholic Charities West Virginia’s (CCWVa) Western Region will host its Seventh Annual Health and Wellness Expo Saturday, September 8, at the pantry on 36 Harless Avenue in Whitesville, W.Va. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The fair is free and open to the public and will feature information about improving one’s health. Various agencies and experts will be participating. A wide variety of free health screenings will also be available for attendees.

“We are looking forward to hosting this event again this year in partnership with the town’s Fall Festival,” said Emily Robinson, CCWVa Western Region Director. “We hope that attendees leave the event with information and resources that will help them as they make choices that facilitate a healthy lifestyle.”

CCWVa officials encourage residents from Boone and Raleigh counties and surrounding areas to attend this free event to receive valuable resources and information about their health.

For the first time this year, free flu shots will be available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A local pharmacy will also be at the event to answer questions about prescriptions.

Giveaways and refreshments will be available. For more information, individuals may contact Sue Pauley, Outreach Coordinator for CCWVa’s Western Region, at (304) 854-1043.
