Catholic Charities West Virginia offers several programs which help our community members to feed their families full, healthy meals.
We have food pantries in every region, two sites for hot meals, a mobile food pantry, as well as delivered meals for the homebound of the Upper Ohio Valley.
Our program WellnessWorks provides nutritional guidance to our visitors and promises that all food provided is healthful and nourishing to body and soul.
See more about all of our programs below.
Catholic Charities WV’s Mobile Outreach addresses the needs of poor and low-income families in Calhoun, Doddridge, Ritchie, Roane and Wirt Counties. These rural and isolated communities are classified as food deserts by the USDA and lack sufficient access to fresh, healthy foods.
WellnessWorks’s goal is to promote healthier life-styles among families and individuals requesting food. We provide nutritional food items as well as general wellness information and written information on specific health conditions, and sponsor special projects, like health fairs and health screenings.
Catholic Charities offers two daily hot meal programs, one in Wheeling open Monday – Saturday, and one in Parkersburg serving every Wednesday. Both are open to all.
Daily mid-day meals are delivered to the homes of eligible persons in the Ohio and Belmont (OH) counties. To receive these meals, you must be elderly and/or disabled, home-bound and pre-qualified by CCNC representative.
How to Receive Meals:
Call the Catholic Charities Neighborhood Center at (304) 232-7157 to make a pre-qualification screening appointment with a representative.
