West Virginia Birth to Three Region One, a program of Catholic Charities West Virginia (CCWVa), is still continuing to provide services during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
“During this time of great uncertainty, West Virginia Birth to Three is maintaining our commitment to serve every child and family that needs us,” said Wendy Miller, CCWVa West Virginia Birth to Three RAU One Director.
West Virginia Birth to Three RAU One is a non-profit, family-focused program that offers a system of services and supports to children who have a developmental delay or may be at risk for developmental delay during the first three years of life. Services offered include physical, occupational, speech, vision, hearing, and developmental services.
“We have transitioned all meetings, evaluations, and therapy sessions to phone or video conferencing technology. We are using products that allow us to communicate with and support families while maintaining confidentiality and allowing families to access high-quality, specialized therapy for their children,” said Miller.
There are no income guidelines for the program. Services are provided at no cost to families, and the services are provided in the child’s natural environment.
West Virginia Birth to Three Region One serves children and families who reside in Hancock, Brooke, Ohio, Marshall, Wetzel, Tyler, Monongalia and Marion Counties.
“We are still accepting referrals and we welcome parents who are concerned about their child’s development to refer their own child,” said Miller.
