WV 211 Activated for Impending Snowstorm

West Virginia residents impacted by the impending snowstorm this weekend can dial 211 from any phone for information and referral services.

WV 2-1-1 has  been activated by VOAD (Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster) and the Governor’s office to respond to this weekend’s storms, and will coordinate information from various sources so that callers to 2-1-1 can find the resources they need during the storm.  This includes shelter and feeding stations.

WV 2-1-1 will coordinate closely with VOAD, the Red Cross and the Governor’s office, and will monitor power and utility outages and estimated times of recovery.

Calls are often routed to local partner information and referral organizations, which will monitor local area calls and emails over the weekend.

The statewide call center will provide information if local partners are affected by power outages during the storm.
