CCWVa SNAP Outreach program helps our neighbors apply for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (formerly food stamps). These benefits are modest, but can make a big difference in the lives of recipients.
This is James’ story:
James, is 36 year old and is married to Savannah who has an 8 year old child. Savannah and her child receive SSI benefits totaling $750 per month which barely pays the rent. They rely heavily on the income James receives from his job at Little Caesars to pay their remaining bills each month.
If not for the SNAP benefits they receive, they wouldn’t be able to put food on the table.
